Is GobyMeds Right For You?

Before writing this review, we gathered the key details on how GobyMeds works and what it offers. If these don’t match what you’re looking for, you’re probably better off choosing a different GLP-1 provider.

Intake

We started at my.gobymeds.com/register and ran through a short health questionnaire that took under five minutes to finish: medication and medical history, weight, and a request for a photo ID at the end. GobyMeds does not offer in-house lab panels, so anyone who wants blood work has to handle it outside the clinic. Approval came back instantly, with no video visit and no required phone call. The intake is one of the lightest we have tested.

Consultation

There is no live consultation by default at GobyMeds. A provider reviews the intake asynchronously and replies inside the patient portal, usually within 24 hours of the patient responding to any follow-up questions. The provider is an independent contractor working with Goby Health LLC and is licensed in the patient’s state at the time of treatment. No video visits are offered as a paid add-on either, which is unusual for the price tier and may be a concern for patients with preexisting conditions or other health concerns.

Ongoing Care

Ongoing care runs on a refill-request basis rather than an automatic monthly subscription. Patients must fill out a form each time they want another shipment. Labs are not required to start or continue treatment. Asynchronous follow-ups happen only when the patient initiates a refill or messages the care team through the portal.

Here’s what happened at every stage of ordering from GobyMeds, from the intake flow to the moment the vial reached our hands. We open every box, inspect every piece, and grade what we find against real patient safety standards.

Does GobyMeds Operate Safely and Legally?

Does GobyMeds hold up across licensing, medication handling, transparency, support, and real patient feedback?

GobyMeds is one of the most transparent clinics we have tested. It holds an active LegitScript certification, lists a verifiable Dover, Delaware, business address, posts its HIPAA notice in the privacy policy, and names all four pharmacy partners directly on the medication options inside the intake. Unfortunately, one of those named pharmacies, BPI Labs, is carrying unresolved FDA action that includes a recent pause on compounded GLP-1s.

Are GobyMeds’ providers and pharmacies legit?

Are the pharmacies actually licensed?

GobyMeds works with four named pharmacy partners: CasaPharmaRx, SevenCells, VitalRx via PharmacyHub, and BPI Labs via Pharmacy Hub. Most clinics bury pharmacy names in the terms of service or refuse to share them at all. GobyMeds puts each pharmacy name and the additive on the medication selection screen during intake, so a patient can see who is filling the bottle before paying. LegitScript is the certification Google and major ad platforms require online pharmacies to hold, and the clinic-side certification is current.

Are the pharmacies clean of disciplinary actions?

Three of the four pharmacies clear the basic disciplinary check, with no public FDA warning letters, 483s, recalls, or state-board actions on file. VitalRx is a newly registered 503B that has not yet been inspected, and the two 503A pharmacies are primarily state-regulated, which means their home-state license files would be the definitive next check for any patient who wants to dig further. BPI Labs carries a March 2025 FDA warning letter with no posted response, a follow-up FMD-145 letter from July 2025, an active FDA do-not-use alert on its epinephrine nasal product, and a recent pause on compounded GLP-1s. Patients should ask which pharmacy is filling their specific prescription before ordering.

Are prescriptions written by a licensed medical professional?

The site states that all practitioners associated with Goby Health LLC doing business as GobyMeds are licensed or registered in all required jurisdictions. The prescribing provider is an independent contractor matched to the patient’s state at the time of intake. Clinician partners are listed on the website rather than hidden behind support requests.

Does GobyMeds meet basic legal requirements?

The clinic’s business address is 8 The Green, Suite A, Dover, DE 19901. The HIPAA privacy notice is posted inside the privacy policy linked from the main site footer, so a patient can find it without having to email support.

Does GobyMeds package and ship your medication properly?

Does the medication stay cold?

A single ice pack inside an insulated styrofoam box kept the vial cold through the three-day transit window. When the box arrived, the interior was still noticeably cool and the ice pack was still mostly frozen. One ice pack is the bare minimum for cold-chain shipping at that duration, but it did the job in our test.

Is the packaging secure?

The outer box was a sturdy, medium-sized white shipping carton packed tightly with a styrofoam cooler inside. However, the vial itself was loose in a small baggie rather than the prescription pill bottle that most clinics use as an extra layer of protection. The vial arrived intact in our test, but the lack of a second strong container means the medication has less protection if a shipment gets dropped or jostled harder than ours did.

Does the package include everything you need, in the right format?

Sharps, alcohol wipes, and the medication itself were all in the box, which covers the basics for someone who already knows how to inject. What was missing was any printed GobyMeds material, particularly a branded instructional guide. The only paper inside was a single pamphlet from the pharmacy. For a first-time GLP-1 patient, that is thin guidance compared with what most competitors ship.

Does the medication arrive on time and is it easy to track?

The package arrived three days after the shipping label was created, with tracking available through email, the patient portal, and the GobyMeds web app the whole way. Notifications fired on time. For a cold-chain shipment, three days is on the longer end of acceptable, but the cold pack and insulation held up.

Is GobyMeds straightforward and transparent?

Is the pricing honest and transparent?

A pricing tab sits at the top of the homepage and links straight to clear monthly and multi-month bundle costs by dose. GobyMeds also publishes a disclaimer right under the lowest advertised price: “The lowest prices shown may reflect multi-month plans or introductory bundles.” That single sentence is more honest than what most compounded clinics put on a homepage, where the lowest tier is usually presented as the default monthly rate. We checked Meta and Instagram ads and saw no off-site pricing claims either.

Do they pressure you into buying?

No countdown timers, no aggressive pop-ups, no scarcity messaging, and no email pressure between intake and checkout. The intake and pricing flow lets a patient compare options without urgency tactics, which is rare in this space.

Is it easy to cancel?

There is no subscription to cancel. GobyMeds runs on a refill-request model, so a patient who simply stops requesting refills stops the relationship. The portal also lets a patient remove their saved card with one click, with no discount offerings, win-back screens, or portal glitches in the way. We followed up with support to confirm nothing else was needed and got a clean reply. It is one of the easiest cancellation experiences we have seen.

Are the photos and claims genuine?

The marketing imagery on the site appears to be AI-generated. That is not an outright integrity failure, but compounded GLP-1 clinics that use AI imagery erode trust faster than they realize, since patients reasonably expect photos on a medical site to depict real people or products.

Are the media mentions and third-party claims legitimate?

We did not find any media logos, award badges, partnership claims, or testing-result claims that required outside verification. No third-party content was used in a way that needed sourcing, which means there is nothing here that risks misleading a patient.

Are they honest about what the medication can do?

The GobyMeds states, “GobyMeds’ medical partners may prescribe compounded medications. Compounded medications are prepared solely in licensed pharmacies, but their efficacy and safety profiles may differ from those of commercially available drugs. It’s important to consult your healthcare provider about the specific risks and benefits associated with compounded medications. Compounded drugs are not-FDA approved.” That disclaimer is placed in the medication section rather than buried in a footer.

Can you get help when you need it?

Can you reach a real person?

Phone support at (866) 785-9869 has no published business hours, and every call we placed went straight to a voicemail saying the team was busy assisting other customers. We did not receive a callback. Live chat is not actually live, and the chat agent’s reply lands in the patient’s email after 24 hours or more. Email at [email protected] and patient-portal messaging are the working channels, with replies that are polite and on-point when they arrive.

Are responses fast and helpful?

Email turnaround was reasonably quick in our test, as were messages within the portal, with helpful and accurate replies. Chat-by-email took a full day or longer for each round of replies, and there is no phone channel that connects to a person. That is workable for nonurgent questions but slow for anyone who needs same-day clarification on dosing, billing, or a missed shipment.

Does a licensed provider stay involved after you sign up?

There are no scheduled provider check-ins, no required follow-up appointments, and no expectations published for monthly clinical touchpoints. Patients communicate with the provider only when they initiate the next refill or message the care team. That model fits independent-minded patients but offers limited proactive oversight.

Do GobyMeds’ reviews stack up?

Do the reviews sound real and are they free of consistent issues?

Trustpilot shows a 4.5 rating for GobyMeds with reviews that read as authentic, and the BBB profile for the parent company, Goby Health LLC, carries a B+ rating with one complaint in the last three years that was resolved directly by the GobyMeds team. There is no dedicated BBB page for the GobyMeds brand yet. Reddit sentiment is mixed; patients tend to praise the pricing and onboarding while flagging support responsiveness and longer-term efficacy as concerns. The mixed picture lines up with what we found in our own testing.

Does the clinic handle complaints well?

Replies to public reviews do not read as templated boilerplate. Each response addresses the specific complaint and offers a concrete next step rather than a generic “please email us” message. The single BBB complaint was resolved by the clinic directly.

Is GobyMeds good value for the money?

How much does GobyMeds really cost per month all in, and is that a good deal?

GobyMeds is one of the more affordable compounded GLP-1 clinics we have tested. Compounded semaglutide lands at $169 monthly with no separate membership fee, no shipping charges, no consultation costs, and no required labs. The bundle pricing on the homepage carries an explicit disclaimer that the lowest advertised numbers reflect multi-month plans, so a patient looking at the front page is not being misled about what the monthly tier actually costs.

How much does medication cost, and is it more expensive than the ads suggest?

The advertised pricing and the actual checkout pricing matched in our test. Compounded semaglutide costs $169 monthly on the monthly plan, with three-month bundle pricing that drops to $133 or $166 monthly depending on dose. Compounded tirzepatide runs $299 monthly with similar bundle pricing. Branded options are available at full cash price: Wegovy at $1,695 monthly and Zepbound at $1,399 monthly. The site is also one of the few we have seen that openly states the lowest displayed price may reflect a multi-month plan, which is the level of disclosure most competitors avoid.

Is everything included in the price?

Is the monthly membership included?

There is no separate membership fee. The medication price is the only charge.

Is shipping included?

Shipping is bundled into the medication price at no extra cost. Tracking is provided through email, the portal, and the app.

Is labwork included?

Labs are not required to start or continue treatment, and GobyMeds does not offer in-house lab panels or partner test kits. Patients who want blood work need to arrange it through their primary care provider or a third-party lab service.

Are doctor consultations included?

The asynchronous provider review is included in the medication price. There is no separate consultation fee, and live video visits are not offered as a paid add-on either.

GobyMeds Is For You If…

  • You want to know which pharmacy is filling your prescription. Most clinics refuse to name partners or bury them in the terms of service. GobyMeds displays each pharmacy name as well as your options for functional additives, on the medication options page prior to checkout.
  • You want low-cost compounded semaglutide without a membership. The monthly price of $169, with shipping and consultation included, is among the best we have tested.
  • You prefer async messaging over scheduled provider visits. Care runs entirely through portal messaging and refill requests, with no required check-ins. That suits independent patients who do not want to block time for appointments.
  • You want effortless cancellation. There is no subscription to cancel, and the saved card can be removed from the portal with one click.
  • You qualify for HSA or FSA reimbursement and want full documentation. Itemized receipts and a letter of medical necessity are provided on request.

GobyMeds Is Not For You If…

  • You want a pharmacy partner without open FDA enforcement concerns or recent disciplinary actions. One of the four named pharmacies, BPI Labs, is carrying an unresolved March 2025 warning letter and a recent pause on compounded GLP-1s. Patients who want minimal regulatory uncertainty should confirm which pharmacy will fill their order before paying.
  • You want a clinic with strong, fast support. The phone line goes to voicemail, chat replies arrive by email after 24 hours or more, and there is no same-day human channel.
  • You expect coaching, nutrition, or community support included. None of those are offered. The portal carries only messages and order history.
  • You want a live provider visit. No video visits are offered, even as a paid add-on. Care is async-only.
  • You want in-house lab work or a partner testing service. GobyMeds neither requires nor offers labs, so blood work has to be arranged elsewhere.

B

GobyMeds earned a True Value Score of B, reflecting strong transparency and pricing offset by slow support and one FDA-flagged pharmacy partner.

The standouts are the pharmacy-level transparency on the intake and the genuine $169 monthly price for compounded semaglutide with shipping and the provider review included. Just keep in mind there is no working phone channel and no same-day support, and one of the four named pharmacies is carrying unresolved FDA action.

For patients who care more about clear pricing and knowing where their medication comes from than about live support or coaching, GobyMeds is one of the better options at this price tier.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about GobyMeds answered

Does GobyMeds Accept Insurance?

GobyMeds does not accept insurance for visits or medication. The clinic is cash-pay only, with no in-network billing. HSA and FSA reimbursement is the workaround, and the clinic provides itemized receipts and a letter of medical necessity on request to support those claims.

What GLP-1s Does GobyMeds Offer?

GobyMeds offers compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide injections plus branded Wegovy and Zepbound at full cash price. There are no oral GLP-1s, no microdose tiers, and no Ozempic or Mounjaro. Longevity add-ons like NAD+ injections and sermorelin are also available.

Which Pharmacies Fill GobyMeds Prescriptions?

GobyMeds names four pharmacy partners directly on the intake: CasaPharmaRx, SevenCells, VitalRx via PharmacyHub, and BPI Labs via Pharmacy Hub. The pharmacy and additive sit next to each medication option, so patients can see who will fill the bottle before paying.

Is the $169 Monthly Price Real?

The $169 monthly price is the real ongoing rate for compounded semaglutide on the single-month plan. Multi-month bundles can lower it further, and the homepage carries an explicit disclaimer that the lowest displayed prices may reflect bundle pricing rather than the standard monthly tier.

How Hard Is It to Cancel GobyMeds?

Cancelling GobyMeds is as simple as not requesting your next refill. There is no subscription, no cancellation fee, and no win-back script. The patient portal also lets you remove your saved card with one click for extra security.

Do I Need Labs or a Video Visit to Start?

You do not need labs or a video visit to start with GobyMeds. The intake is an asynchronous health questionnaire under five minutes long, and the provider reviews it inside the portal. Labs are neither required nor offered through the clinic, so blood work has to be arranged elsewhere.

How Quickly Does GobyMeds Reply to Support Questions?

GobyMeds replies to support questions through email and patient-portal messaging in a reasonable amount of time, but phone calls go to voicemail and live chat replies arrive by email after 24 hours or more. Email is the most reliable channel for non-urgent questions.

Is GobyMeds Legit and Safe to Use?

GobyMeds is legit on the basics: active LegitScript certification, a verifiable Dover, Delaware address, four named pharmacy partners, and a HIPAA notice in the privacy policy. The one caveat is that BPI Labs, one of the four pharmacies, carries unresolved FDA action including a recent pause on compounded GLP-1s.
